Heaters are not that costly, I would buy new, as getting used for a few bucks less, you also might be getting burnt up contacts. The on/off cycle burns up the contacts and eventualy they fail, sometimes in on position, cooked tank? Now I've had Jaegers that worked for many years, but would not buy a used Jaeger for anything other then maybe my mixing container.
