wanting 3 pairs of clowns

could i keep the following

3 pairs of Black Onyx True Percula Clwons in 3 30gal tanks? with a retia anemone? and breed them? they will run off the same sump, and have appropiate lighting. could i do it? i want to breed these guys, and help out NZ prices and have the coolest clown ever!

The clowns you can do, no problem there. I would pass on the anemone if you mean a H. magnifica, aka ritteri.

..That project might take years, but it is do-able if you are willing to take that long.

Ritteri are not going to be happy in a 30gallon tank. The good news is that you don't need anemone for the clownfish to spawn.

Also, you won't need 3 pair of breeding onyx unless you really want a BIG system. They can throw 1000 eggs a month easily.

serious 1000 eggs, how many fry? would i be better giving them a 55 gal then i could get me anemone? and plus a few other small breeding fish?

keep in mind that it could take many, many years to have a breeding pair...

and not always get breeding...none of mine have even tried since I got em.

it might take them a long time to get them to breed regularly, but if you want anemone for them to have, i would use a RBTA. They are hardy and the clowns will go into them...but as stated before, you don't one for them to breed just some time.
