Wanting Peacock Mantis Shrimp

I am wanting to get a mantis shrimp and slakker told me to post here.. I have a 20g aquarium with 10lbs rock.

What do I need to know on care and feeding. I am thinking on feeding it emeralds and feeder shrimp.

Can you share your pics of your mantis shrimp and pistol shrimp.

Mantis shrimp are super super cool and fun to feed and watch. Pistol shrimp are boring plain and simple lol

I wouldn't pay for emeralds... get fiddlers instead... much cheaper! My G. smithii loves them.

You can feed frozen foods, too. Not as fun to watch, but much easier on the bank account. Just make sure to give them live foods every once in a while to keep their appendages strong.

Do you buy your fiddlers at a big franchise store IE petco.
The only place around my house is a petco and all there stuff looks like it has ich or a parasite. But my other LFS(family owned) has the red claws and they are at about 3.99 verse the emeralds at 6.99

Also will red claw crabs work.

My LFS has peacock mantis shrimp for 45.99 is this exspensive for this species. The mantis shrimp is 4"-5" long and an inch wide.
