Wanting to get a gig.

This will be my first carpet so wanna find a tan one or cheaper not vibrantly colored. Anybody know a good source to get one from? Any advice is also greatly appreciated.

Google has a wide selection of search responses when searched.

I searched for both: Stichodactyla gigantea and Gigantea for sale and came across quite a few.

I am looking also, and I have a few feelers out for a Blue Gig. The buyers are just waiting on the suppliers to come back with a positive response.

I suggest signing up to be on the notify list on Live Aquaria. They get tan ones in every once in a while, and when they do, you can get an email. Just to here:

That is another good resource. There are a few sites that allow you to be emailed when they come in.

I have used this before and have had GOOD luck with it.

You have to be quick on the draw sometimes, as soon as you get the e-mail notification. Otherwise someone else might get it.

I've checked vivid aquariums blue zoo live aquaria and on here. Might have to sign up for an email alert just can't see spending that much cash on a nice colored one for my first carpet. Thanks for the input guys.

Yes the over $600 price range is quite a bit. I have seen some for over $1100.

They are there. Just have to determine what you want to do.

Do you not have any quality LFS in your area? Most the time you can go in and let them know what you want and they can add it to their order. I did that for my LTA i got a month ago and a few fish they rarely stocked.

Yea it's just outrageous the prices they are beautiful but 600$+ and most places have a restriction on the guarantee.

I try not to deal with my lfs unless I have to. They are very shady and rude! Usually I make the two hour drive somewhere else before I go there and they are only 15min away.
