wanting to go filterless?

I would like to not have to use a filter. I'm getting a new skimmer and was wondering if the skimmer could replace the filter. Is their an aclimation process or what? Do i have to break in the skimmer first or can i just take off the filter when i put it in. Should i go down to just filtering a half a day for a week before i remove it? I have 7 fish in my tank, do they keep me from removing the filter or will the skimmer take care of them to? The tank is only a 29g. W/o a sump. If i removed the filter it would give me a little more room so that i could add a sump IF i had to. What do yall think, is filterless harder than i thought?

What kind of skimmer will you use? There seem to be alot of problems with the small skimmers. I have a 33 gallon tank I have a Ehiem canister filter and a tunze 9002 skimmer and the skimmer can not do it all. ETSS has a nice nano sump with a skimmer. Good luck

i couldn't find any thing thats a nano sump w/skimmer. I was thinking a remora, not the nano remora but the one rated for 75 gal. any help?

Seven fish in a 29, I would use a filter sock. They are amazing things. I even have one on my frag tank that has no fish or fish food. It gets discusting!
Also look at the Octopus skimmers, I have used a HOB Remora for years, but there are now better products. R
