Warner Marine Now Has A Pellet Product

Interesting stuff. I think I'm going to give it a try. I've been dosing vodka/vinegar for a few months now with fair/good success. It'd be nice to not need to worry about remembering to dose the carbon source anymore. There has been more than once that I've forgotten.
I'll need 1.5L of EcoBak. I currently run an ATI BM250 on my tank. But I also have my old ASM G3 w/recirc mod. I wonder, would it be worthwhile to put the ASM back on the system, and plumb the reactor's output to the ASM? I'd run it in addition to the BM250, and solely to skim the reactor's output. At 150-200 gph through the ASM, I think it would do a good job of skimming out the bacteria, along with getting rid of the CO2 produced. Or would this be overkill?

It certainly won't hurt. Might as well give it a shot and see how it does :)

I'll be joining the club soon. I believe my EcoBak is already at the house and I will be putting it to use starting in the morning. Jon suggested letting the pellets soak in RO/DI water overnight so that you end up with less "floaters." I'll give this a try and then fire up the reactor in the morning. I will be using between 500mL and 1L in my WM MR1 reactor.

I read that people are taking out their sponges in their reactors. I have a BRS single chamber reactor. Are you guys taking out the sponges out of the BRS reactors or just the TLF reactor?

I've sent half a dozen emails and called three times only to get voice mail at WM. Anyone know of an online source where I can buy this? I've had a reactor empty and waiting for 2 weeks now.

Same here...trying to get some for my tank as well.

I don't think they have been released to distributors yet. I am sure you will see them appearing at some of the sponsor sites soon

With that being said, I got my reactor filled and fired up this morning. I tried soaking the pellets overnight in RO/DI water but still had some floaters. Can't wait to see how well this stuff works :)

As far as i last heard there is a Pkg problem with the product that is holding up the Eco-Bak from getting to the retailers. That came from Warner Marine themselves. FYI

My experience so far... I've been using the EcoBAK pellets for 1 1/2 wks now. I did experience a bacterial bloom on day 2 through 5 but the tank is crystal clear now. I'm skimming wet and pulling out some stinky water as compared to before. I'm having to change the filter socks daily or every other day at the max where previously it was every 4 days.

No changes in nutrients yet, they were low to begin with (previously ZEOvit). Nitrates 5, PO4 = .03 (both Salifert). Corals are doing fine with good PE.

I purchased them RETAIL at neptune aquatics a week ago. They are already in store. Price for the 1 litre was same as online.

Also, my results thus far have been a massive increase in skimmer foam. Currently using them in a cannister filter with 250gph flowrate.

Edit: I have also been using them in a large sulfur DIY denitrator i built with a volume of 5 gallons. The denitrator has 4 layers, bottom is Denitrate media, next sulfur, next crushed coral for buffering, and finally about 250ml of warner biopellets. The denitrator cycled very fast(3 days) and currently outputting 0 nitrates from a tank with 50ish nitrate -- at a fairly fast flowrate for a denitrator.

Can anyone PM me Jon's number. I can't find anything on his website, and I can't get him to respond to e-mails through the site. Thanx ahead.

Initially I found another site that kind of looked like an early version of their site with little info / navigation... was confusing to me as well.

I just ran into a little problem. I took out all the sponges from my BRS reactor and added 1/2 L of Eco-Bak. Because the sponges are no longer there, the eco bak keeps coming out the output. Any ideas?
