You cannot get UL listing for an electronic device that has multiple power cords so all these fancy lights with multiple power cords. Nope, not certified. Each individual ballast might be but the unit as a whole won't be.

most of the new fixtures come with a single cord and are computer controlled. that said the main thing the ul sticker gives you is a better chance of your insurance covering your damage

Insurance cannot deny a claim because the item that caught fire is not UL listed. At least that is what my agent just told me when I called.
