wartskin angler

I recently received a wartskin angler from LA. He had a rough trip because of airline delays with FEDEX, but he did make it alive. My problem is that he is not eating at all. I believe the Diver's Den discription said that they were eating frozen silversides. I have tried this and krill as well with no success. Yesterday, I tried live guppies. That didn't work either. Any suggestions? I live way out in the country, so it is hard to get anything else live. Please help.
It has been just over a week since I received him. I fear that the travel stress has shut him down, so to speak.

We sincerely apologize that the Wartskin Angler is not eating. Any sort of stress such as that from shipping can cause Anglers to stop eating. You may want to try using different live foods to help entice the Wartskin to eat. Some examples would be feeder shrimp or marine feeder fish. Have you noticed any fish missing in your tank? Sometimes they will eat without you noticing.

I only have a couple of other predators in the tank. So, nothing is missing.
I do not see the live white shrimp on your site any more. I was going to try to order some of those to get him going again.

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, the White Shrimp are still out of stock and at this time we do not have an estimated arrival date. You may want to sign up for the Email Alert so that an email is automatically sent to you as soon as these are back in stock. In the meantime, you may want to try another type of live shrimp or feeder fish.

what do you suggest? The angler is only about 3". Would a few chromis work? What is that inexpensive? I checked my LFS and he only has guppies. I need these real soon or he won't make it.

Thank you for your post. We sincerely apologize that your Wartskin Angler is not eating at this time. It is not uncommon for an Angler to refuse food for a couple of weeks after shipping. We would recommend trying different foods such as Silversides, Clams, Frozen Jumbo Shirmp, and using a feeding rod to make dead food look live. Soaking these foods in a garlic supplement such as Garlic Xtreme may entice him to eat.

Live freshwater Ghost Shrimp would also work, however we would recommend feeding the shrimp a supplement such as Cyclop-Eeze to enrich their nutritional value. Feeding live feeder fish like Chromis and Damselfish would work as well, however it is recommend that the feeder fish be quarantined for a period of 4 weeks before feeding your fish to ensure the health of the feeder fish.

Thank you for the great answer. I hope to see him eat soon. I have not even seen him "fishing" as of yet. It has only been just over a week though.
