i was told this was a montipora sp. but im not one hundred percent sure. its a very nice emerald green color but has small roundish bumps all over. it also has two tiny branches that have formed in the middle. any ideas? thanks in advance
Poser. Montipora Encrusting Coral possibly. The nodular appearance almost looks like turbinaria, but there are polyps all over, which is much more montipora.
That is an Echinopora sps, possibly E. gemmacea. This genus may resemble Echinopyllia, but the skeleton of the later has clear striations joining the polyps(calicyes) as found in other Pectinids. Echinopora is a Favid.
