I have a Watanabe angel (female) thats about 2 1/2" long, I have had her for about 8 months. She has been doing great. This afternoon I walk by the tank and she is lying on the sand. I thought she was dead, but when I grabbed the net she took off! She ended up on the bottom again a few minutes later. I cought her and put her in a specimin container, still in the tank. She tries to swin, but can't stay upright. She just lays over on her side. All parameters seem fine, and she has no sign of disease. What can I do for her?
Thanks,

I'm having similar problem. I don't think my Naso is going to make it as well. I posted my problem and hoping someone can help me out as well.

Are we posting in the wrong forum? I had a powder brown that was doing great, then one morning about 3 months ago he was dead on the bottom. No clue what caused it or what to do about this one...

Probably you should start off with some stats. ... Tank size, tankmates, water params, etc. to help people help you

IMO...that is fairly common for Naso and Acanthurus tangs...

So apparantly not so common with wantanabes or angel fish in general.

Personally, I've not had a problem with Genicanthus angels...I currently have a Bellus pair , and a trio of Zebras... had to remove a Lamarck that got very big and made the other males revert back to females.
Never had the Watanabe, but would think its similar to others

IMO there are certainly other angels that are tough to keep...

In my tank I also have a pr of Flames, a Coral Beauty, a Multifaciatus and a Regal

So just as a FYI to someone else that finds this thread because they have the same problem: she is still alive. I talked to my favorite saltwater guy at my LFS and determined it could be a couple things related to poor nutrition. I started giving Kent Marine 'Zoe'. She seems better already, but today was the first time I have given it. I will try to update this thread as I have more info!

I have no clue. Its a downside to the hobby; but fish die and we don't always know the reason. With the symptoms this fish has; even a good guess is tough.
