does anyone have any experiance with this species, she appeared to be eating mesis shrimp at first, but now wont eat them, any ideas?,she doesnt look to healthly now?

IME they have a pretty good appetite when healthy and will eat just about anything. Not eating could be signs of a sick fish. Are you saying she looks unhealthy only because she's not eating or are there other signs?

being the labor day weekend,i didnt watch as well as i noranlly do,she wont eat and she is starting to get ich spots,i would suspect due to not eating?,unheathly fish, higher the risk of disease!i could get a clear shrimp or goby but her health is my concern,i mean no easting, she seems to try and eat but then spits it back out, tried mysid,brine/mysid cubes, any suggustions?

That's not good. Probably the ich was already present and manifested recently due to stress. How long have you had her? Maybe 2-4 weeks?

Personally I would get her into a QT tank immediately and use hyposalinity for a couple of weeks to treat the ich.

Those fish sometimes have swim bladder problems due to the depth at which they are caught. Has her swimming pattern changed? Does she swim straight or kinda bounce around? QT would be a good idea, and careful observation.

she seems to be swimming fine at this time, the problem is that i cant get any garlic treatment until late tomorrow,:(

could be ich. I would agree w/mothra. AS well as keeping her in the QT tank for a good month and a half as ich has a long 8 week lifespand.

I have a neon cleaner goby I got because my blue tang had some ich and he cleaned it off within 24 hrs and I havent had any problems with it since. I am no professional I just got a salt water tank but does anybody else have any objections to using a cleaner goby.

Two bad experiences with watanabe's here. I love those fish, but I'm staying away until I can figure out the juju to keep them alive. In addition to the garlic and the cleaner gobies, I've heard they can be shy in brightly lit tanks until aclimated for a few weeks. Mine were certainly shy.

How long have had her? Is there any other fish that's bother her? If it has itch, you can try and catch it and do a fresh water
dip. Try feeding it with live brime then use frozen when it start
to eat. Good luck.

Remember, with any Genicanthus species water quality is paramount. And, as with certain sps corals, it is usually a combination of several factors-with one final factor finally sending them "over the edge"-that lead to RTN, or ich, or marine velvet, etc.
