Hi there,
I'm quite worried about a very pretty Watanabei female.
I bought her 2 weeks ago from a reliable local shop that kept it in the store for 3 weeks for me...+4 weeks at the importer..apparently.
I visited the fish 2-3 times at the shop to make sure it was ok and once confident of its health, I took it home and slowly acclimatised over 45 mins.
She started eating immediately frozen and it has been very active, but a week ago I spotted a little "hole" on her back (see image with anthias) and more recently ( last couple of days ) she is a little quieter and has developed 2 white marks .. once on each side of the body.
It doesn't scratch against send or rocks, I don't see her flicking and she is still feeding well.
Initially she was chased occasionally by the male WA, but things have settled and the marks have developed only once the chasing stopped.
In the same tank there are not other fish chasing her but there is a malu anemone and a send anemone (might them be at fault?)
After a quick search over the internet I found this:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/fi...nthus/faqs.htm
Watanabe Angelfish Emergency - Diagnosis Please
(you need to scroll down a little to find the image of the WA female and the title here above)
It seems to me like is the same type of issue ((( and from the Q&A it seems pretty much doomed!
I'm really worried now.. not just because of the money.. but it is such a beautiful and .. somewhat rare fish.
Any help would be very, very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Claudio
