Watch the Alkalinity

I use Kalk in my ATO which normally keeps my alkalinity very stable. However, in the cooler weather we have been having I turned off my cooling fans. The tank evaporation has slowed way down and so has the addition of the top off water with the Kalk in it. I was surprised to the find the alkalinity down several points in a relatively short time span.....

Yes. That's always a concern this time in the season. Less evap=less kalk=instability. Conversely, the opposite effect in the summer time when there's more evap and more kalk used.
