Hurricanes, and dive days...
Hurricanes, and dive days...

I called today and got a message that they were out of rock, then got an email that they got rock in today, the first rock in weeks the email said.
Today was the first day we have been able to harvest rock in weeks. We were killed by hurricanes all of September and some of October.
Then front after front swept through Florida , preventing diving.
We tried yesterday and there was 6-8 foot seas and zero vis, today was 4-5 foot seas and about three foot of vis. We have tried many days in the last few weeks, today was the first day that conditions allowed us to dive.
Rest assured that we want that rock as much as all of you, but am not going to risk our lives in unsuitable conditions, as we are older and smarter now.
It will only take a few days of good weather for us to be fully stocked and on top of things again, everybody hang in there, rock is on the way.
Has been a tough weather year for us, as if it is too rough to dive, there is nothing you can do about it. I wish harvesting live rock was easy as going to the store for a gallon of milk, but it is not so easy.
In the 30 years we have been doing this we have never had such bad weather in one season, but things are looking up this week, weatherwise.
Needless to say we will be underwater everyday that we can!
