Watchman goby and pistol shrimp pair, danger to glass?

May be a silly question, but I do know there can be issues with these guys cracking glass. Perhaps its in thinner walled tanks? I'll be setting up a 120 gallon over the weekend and my wife really likes the little pair. Just trying to see if it is worth while to appease her and get them ( it'll be months out ) or if I should steer her away from them.

They say a big Mantis Shrimp can break glass, but not a pistol.

Pistol shrimp do not pose any danger to glass or a tank. Their "shots" are generated by a high speed water jet which is generated inside their large claw.

The shrimp that can break glass are the larger mantis shrimp with clubbed fangs who are specialized for feeding on crabs and snails.
The mantis shrimp with spear fangs to catch fish and shrimp are also not likely to break glass.

In theory, yes. I have not seen it happen in an aquarium. In the sea, I have seen certain types use their strikers to crack hard shells, so I would not hesitate to think they could crack glass.

My yellow watchman & tiger pistol shrimp are my favorite part of my tank. I will always have a goby/shrimp pair in every tank that I have. So much fun to watch their relationship!
