Water change question

Getting ready for my bi weekly w/c and since my last I've added a finger leather and a few sps frags. They are all located higher in the tank and when I do my w/c the level will drop far enough to expose them. Will this harm them in any way? I'm running a 75 gal DT with a 20 gallon sump and I do 20% w/c's which drops the level in the DT about 5.5 inches from the rim. They probably wouldn't be exposed for any longer than 5 minutes.

heres a fantastic tip, Drain the water from your sump! :D pump out water from your sump and pump water back into the sump

Point taken but that does me no good as far as trying to clean up any detritus in the DT. I usually try to blow alot of the detritus from the live rock into the water column with a turkey baster then siphon it out. I also don't think I have a full 20 gallons in the sump.

No you're ok, there are places where the shallow reef in low tides they(sps) are expose to air a lot longer than 5 minutes.

That's how I change my water in my 40 breeder you should be ok even if it takes a few minutes, I expose my corals as long as you turn off your lights to avoid burning them.

on a true reef in the ocean the corals will sometimes be exposed to air and no water for a couple of hours due to the tide going out things should be ok for just a water change i have never had a problem in 5 years with this same issue.
