water change right after adding fish?

I curious if it's smart to do a water change right after I added a fish and he's getting used to the tank?
My ammonia and nitrites are 0, but my nitrates are at 2 ppm.

I believe I can wait, but I dont want to over stress the fish since he's already stressed enough. I was just going to do a 15% water change this weekend.
I can be desecrate about it, just siphoning from the DT without much fuss then adding the water back in through the sump to keep the disturbance in the DT at a minimum.

would you just do it or wait?

Any time I added a fish I tried to do the water change before the fish went in. If you have to do it maybe wait till the lights are off and the fish are all in bed. This might be less stressful to the new fish.

Nitrates of 2 ppm is really nothing, Personally I'd not stress out the new fish and wait a week. I do a 20% WC every two weeks on my tank and it keeps the parameters just where I want them. My nitrates are usually < 10

Have you a sump?
Dip as much water as you can from the sump with the main pump still running, add water to level, then dip more and add more, repeat until water change is done, but you'll never have disturbed the main tank.

i would do the same as Sk8r suggested if you were going to do a water change, but waiting a few days until the fish settle won't do any harm.

I don't think changing the water is an issue at all. As long as the temp,ph etc are well matched doing a water change is not a very traumatic event especially if you can add the water into the sump.

2PPM is nothing, with fish and softies can go all the way up to 40ppm, wait until the new fish get acclimated to the new tank
