water changes: is there an app for that?

actually there is I use aquanotes for iphone and turn on my two dosing pumps one comes out one goes in

the younger generation is lazy. Just sayin :lol2:

Jeez... It's not 1990. Technology is there to be used. If you disagree with these new fandangled doohickies then that's fine, but there is nothing lazy about learning and advancing with technology and using it to our advantage.

I use Google calendar for reminders. I got sick of my wife saying I never told her what plans I had, so I pit it in the calendar and send her an invite so she can't deny it. The habit just carried over.

When I saw the thread I came in guns loaded ...... :hmm5:

If you need an app to tell you how and when to do a water change you shouldn't own a tank or livestock.

Dude have you been in a hole that long. This is the age of the smart phone. There is an app for everything. Mine will even send me a text if something is wrong.

Thread didn't say a thing about monitoring. Get back to me when you find an app that does a 50 gallon water change. That's the problem today, too many folk let other things and people do their thinking! .... and BTW I do have a smartphone ......... :)

1 gallon water change, twice a week, Thursdays and Fridays. Calendar on my iPhone reminds me that day to get salt water. But no application. I love all the new technology but I still go old school.

So are you lazy b/c you use a controller to turn your lights on and off instead of doing it manually?

What about that new 3d TV? Are you lazy for getting one of those instead of uprooting your arse and going to the theater? ;)

Just sayin..

*All in fun

Could this work?

if you need an app to REMIND you to do a water change you're probably not qualified to be called the "younger generation" :D

yes.. this thread is all in fun....

until you tell your kid to take out the garbage and he asks you if there's an app for that!

All i know is the aquanotes for iphone is awesome. Hey Gary I think I remember a long time ago when a controller was considered new technology and everyone was afraid of them now look. Lets put it this way when your power goes out at home and you need to plug a generator in etc to keep your stuff alive and you arent home I am guessing your going to wish there was a app that would tell you that you lost power. Hmm I got one lol

There is if you have the proper setup. Look a few posts up!!

Nothing like being on vacation or away from home in general and all your tank info is right at your fingertips!!! :D AWESOME!! Does the automated water change work well?? Any problems??

its not automated at all its just two pumps you turn them both on you need to be there just in case ones faster than the other. I just love being called lazy

Apex app will aid your 50 gallon water change but you may need a smart phone or computer to use it.......
I don't get it. Your upset because someone is using an app to aid them in when to do a water change. But your on a computer or "smart phone" getting info about your system.... Hummmmmm, Glass House.
