My local fish store has a 600 gallon tank for sale for $9,000. Had a couple questions related to it. Is this s good price? What should be offered as this seems high.

Also how are water changes performed? Or is a tank like this doing a constant type change.

Sooooo many more questions need answered before you can get a valid answer. Outside of volume thats all you've given.

Manufacturer, what else does it come with, etc...

I would be installing as much equipment as needed. It has tons of large holes drilled in the bottom so I'm guessing it will have many overflows and lots of return pumps

Not counting the fact that filled with water it would weigh 4800 lbs, before adding sand, rock, or anything else

Hole all over the bottom for the plumbing isn't necessarily ideal. What are the dimensions? What is the material thickness? What is the tank made out of (glass or acrylic)? Who is the manufacturer of the tank? Is it new or used? How about taking some pictures of it and posting them.

As for water changes, that all depends on what you plan on keeping in it and what your stock levels are along with the amount of live rock in the system, your protein skimmer etc. No way of answering that but I would figure on about 20-30% of your total system volume every month.. It could be more though depending on a number of factors.

9K seems high, I got a custom 750g quoted for another grand and that was brand new. If it comes with everything to run it, then it might be worth it.

I did 55 gallon water changes every week. Pretty easy. Just gotta stay on top of it. 9,000.00 sounds like too much. I got a 2 year old 750 miracles glass tank for a third of that. So when you say 9,000.00 for a used 600, sounds like crazy talk to me.
But if money isn't an issue for you at all, its pretty convenient to have it ready to go right there.

i payed 7,000 for a brand new 800 gallon glass tank to my door from texas to new york. 9,000 is to much you could get a new 600 from miracle for that.
