Water clarifiers

I was looking at using a water clarifier. They typically use a chemical
to cause negatively charged particles to bind together. There are
several products on the market for example Seachem Clarity.
I have no idea what is in Seachem Clarity.
Does anyone know of one that uses natural ingredients like Chitosan?
These links give a little more detail on the question.
The chemicals are referred to as flocculants.

Clarity is good and reef safe.

Proprietary aqueous solution of inorganic precipitating agent and organic flocculating polymer.

Not sure the two statements can be made together. If you do not know what is in it, how can it be considered reef safe. The Inorganic
part of the ingredients would lead me to believe it was not.
I do not consider Aluminium reef safe, Silicate would be an issue also.

I was wondering if there was something available that the
ingredients were known in

If you want crystal clear water, I prefer either ozone or UV. The initial cost is pricey but you don't risk using unwanted chemicals in your tank.

Since I haven't used the clarifiers, I don't have any experience to report. I am leary of adding unknown chemicals to the tank.
