Do any of you use the "recommended" acclimations suggested by Liveaquaria or others where you take a little water out, pour a little in (from QT/DT), repeat about 4 to 5 times, then put your fish in the QT/DT?
I have normally had my QT ready to go, set for close to the expected SG.
I just float the bag for temp about 20 minutes and then put the fish, provided they're close. (Since drip acclimation is frowned upon due to the escalation in toxciity on opening the bag).
However, I'm ordering a captive bred mandarin in the next week, and it'll be going straight in the DT. My DT is about 1.025-1.026 in sg. Should I abide by the supplier's guide on acclimation if it comes in lower than 1.023?
