im not sure if this water filter i bought is removing phosphates from my tank?

No, it won't. Get a RO/DI.

No, that won't remove phosphate. It should improve the taste of tapwater, though.

Those two canisters contain the pre-filters of a RO/DI unit. They are used to protect the membrane from clorine and sediment. The membrane does the work. The DI polishes what the membrane misses.

thanks, so what exactly is my filter removing at the moment and what is it leaving

and if i got another ro/di unit i should keep this one too?

What you are removing with that is sediment and chlorine.

If you wish you could keep that and get an addon RO membrane and DI stage and add to it instead of spending more money on the parts you already have

I knew you were gonna say that haha.. Check Ebay.au, they should have all the parts on there, just posted from BRS so you could see what you would need
