Water flow for sps???

I currently have 2 x 6045 (4,500 L/ph) Tunze pumps and a return pump of 5,000 L/ph. Water flow looked great until I put my live rock in. I want to keep sps corals but have been told I need high water flow? how much do I need? My tank is a 120 g 4 x 2 x 2 and from what ecotech recommend I need 2 x mp 40's. Thats a total of 24,000 L/ph water flow. However in Australia the cheapest I can buy these for is $599 each. Very expensive to get good water flow. Can you have too much water flow? How do you find that happy medium to suit sps? obviously you dont want to blast sps with flow as their polups will not extend. Please some advice would be much appreciated.

You might consider using two Tune 6105 with their (included) Wide Flow housings. Run at full power these would likely be too much, but you can turn them down either with a controller or on the pump's built-in power knob.

With SPS it's always better to have too much flow than too little. By getting oversized pumps you ensure that you'll still have enough power once the corals have grown in.
