Water General RD-102 Filters

So, I have a Water General 5 stage RO/DI filter system and need to replace the filters. I am assuming as long as the filters are the same size any brand will work? Just making sure as I bought this used and have not changed the filters yet.

Several flow ratings will fit in the housing. Make sure to get the same GPD rated RO membrane or change the flow restrictor to match the new membrane.

So the carbon filters on the water general site say they are 10 micron but on BRS the biggest I see is 5 micron particle size. Do you think that is a big deal for size difference? Trying to order everything I need right now from one place to pay less for shipping. I need GFO, carbon, a new Nitrate test kit, and RO/DI filters.

I just saved me any problems I might have from getting from BRS since the filters did not seem exactly the same for diameter or micron rating so I ordered from Filter Direct which is a direct replacement...a bit cheaper too I think.

I use filters direct and have always been happy.

A 5 micron filter is better than a 10 micron because it will filter things smaller in size.

Here is another good question. I don't have a canister wrench but want to change the the filters in the RO/DI. It appears I am weak and can't untwist the canisters by hand...the pressure from the system has been relieved and I drained the water from the canisters. Any tips on removing these without a wrench?

I usually don't hang out with weaklings, but I have extra canister wrenches, so stop by if you want to pick one up. I am probably 5 minutes from you so I don't want to hear it is too far away. :facepalm:
