Water Level for skimmer

I just purchased a Octopus 200 or Pacific Coast 3000. It is the one with the 8 inch chamber and a needle wheel, not the recirc one.

My question is how deep should the water be in the sump chamber that it sits in? I am building the sump and want to make sure I cut the baffel to the proper height.

Any help is appriciated.

I believe that euro-reef recommends that the water level be about 6-8 inches, I have no clue about the Octopus.

Basically should be as shallow as possible, the more shallow the water is the easier it is for the pump to pull air into the venturi.
