Water Motion

What are your guys thoughts on the TUNZE Turbelle stream pumps for water movement. Just planning a new aquarium and I'm looking to add alot of current for the ritteri nem.

Thanks,
b

I've never used one, but I wouln't use a powerhead in an anemone tank...especially with a ritteri. Unlike with a BTA, if the ritteri gets chopped up there is a good chance that everything except your clowns will die!

Have you ever tried a closed loop manifold? I put one on my 125 and i really like it. I get good flow throughout the tank and it looks clean with no equipment in the tank.

Ritteri needs a lot of alternating water movements so it's impossible not to have a powerhead.

I've had this anemone for 5 years already.... Just looking to get a bigger aquarium. Just wondering about the wave box, and the tunze pumps.

I have never used a wavebox, but have seen them in other's tanks.
From the wild videos of ritteris that I have seen, a wavebox would be absolutely perfect for a ritteri, for most anemones for that matter.

Do ritteris move onto the glass? Most powerheads like Tunze you can place them in the upper part of tank.
Wavebox works great.

If it can go higher, it will. So if it can touch the glass, yes it will... thats why most people use cube tanks with a central brommie

the tunze wavebox is awesome. its one of my favorite things in my tank. it took some getting used to, as its kinda big/bulky but when the coralline starts growing on it, its not as bad. my bta's tentacles wave in the current it makes, as well as the frogspawn, torch, zoas, etc. it definately adds that last bit of realism that is missing. the fish even bob up and down in it.
