What is the best water parameters for new seahorses and pipe fish tank. What kine equipment is necessarily to keep them a life?I plan to make 12 gal. in my sons room.

A 12 gallon is about the worst size for a seahorse tank. Its too large for dwarf seahorses and too small for most others. If this is your first time dealing with seahorses, I would suggest a 30 gallon aquarium

As for parameters, it should be similar to a reef tank.

Equipment isn't important as long as you're keeping a healthy tank. You don't want the flow rate too fast (somewhere around 10x and 20x turn over is ideal.) And you'll want to protect any power head intakes or overflows to keep seahorses from being sucked in/over.

Knowing and adhering to feeding requirements is going to be the most important thing for success. Captive bred seahorses eat frozen mysis, and should be fed 2-3 times a day. If you go on vacation, you must have someone to take care of them, because they can't go without feeding for long.

I saw in another thread you asked about keeping clownfish and anemones with them. Anemones are a big no-no with seahorses, and clowns are iffy at best. Seahorses are best kept with extremely peaceful fish, and those fish that won't out-compete them for food. Most gobies are a good choice.

Except for the temp, it should go no higher than 74 or you risk bacterial issues. FishGrrl was thinking this.. she just didn't type it  so I thought I had better clarify.

Thank you FishGrrl and Peka i think i start talking with experts.I don't know nothing about seahorses and pipe fish .So do i kneed protein skimmer and uv light and sump? Or I can run this more simple?
