Water Pressure Gauge - Replace Carbon Block

I recently purchased a glycerin water pressure gauge to help me determine if the carbon block needed to be replaced.

Is anyone using this method? How much pressure loss are you condsidering to be an indication of a required change?

I am assuming this should be checked over a period of days to rule out normal fluctuations that can occur.
