I run a very clean tank with a good skimmer, GFO/carbon reactors and regular water changes. My Ca/Alk levels are fine and lighting is good.My soft corals just hang in there without much growth. I was talking with someone who doesn't skim, change his water or add supplements but his softies look better than mine. He mentioned that my water might be too clean and that if I skimmed less, my softies would grow better.
Does this make sense? I thought that since most softies are photosynthetic, that better water quality is a good thing.
