Water question?

I am preparing to purchase my RO water from my local water store, and they say they use a 12 filter process. Is this to much? I see most RO and RO/DI units use 4 to 5 filters.

Hard to say what the commercial style filtration is. Most home units are 4 or 5 stage RO/DI units. I'd get a TDS meter and check the store bought water. Sometimes it can have a really high tds in comparision. The best solution would be to buy a unit yourself. It will save you money and aggravation in the long run. They are relatively inexpensive now. www.thefilterguys.biz

Is this drinking water RO? If it is they may include processes like UV serialization, post carbon filtration, ozonation and even remineraliztion where salts are added back into the water to add flavor and mouth feel. If so, you want another source. It's not bad water, it is just not what one really wants for a tank.

Thats what I was afraid of. I guess I will just go the the LFS. Thought I could save $.20 at gal, but I want to do it right.
