I am looking for a large water storage container and I saw a 96 gallon Totes refuse container. It had wheels and a built in lid. Its green and sturdy but I was wondering if its safe to use for water storage. I read the labels and it had no warnings on it. Has anyone used these?

Yeah, I have a 44 gallon Brute but the 96 gallon size was very interesting.
I went from a 90 gallon to a 175 so I am looking at increasing my storage size without having to daisychain Brute cans.

I would avoid it if it has the built in wheels. That is a weak part of the container and I have read of others that have failures at that point. The brutes have wheels that can be purchased separeatley and do not compromise the integrity of the container.

The rubbermaid BRUTE trash cans are food safe and the storage containers of choice for most Aquariuses.

Only if they are white, yellow or gray. Rubbermaid Brute containers in other colors are NOT food safe.
