Water Storage Container

Hi guys. Long time since last post.

It's time. I went online to find a Rubbermaid container to hold RO/DI water. The space I have available is only 14" wide. The only thing I found a "slim-jim" trash container.

I know I'm supposed to get food-safe, not sure how to proceed or if I can find the size I need. And I wonder about strength issues.

Where did you all get your containers?

Pete

Good to see you around again, Pete.

What exactly are you looking for, just a reservoir for RO/DI? Maybe something that could be fabricated out of acrylic perhaps?

I've seen a lot of people use the Christmas wrapping paper ones. They are tall and skinny.

Yes, I'm looking for a RO/DI resevoir.

I've thought about the wrapping paper containers but the trash receptacles seem much much stronger.

Pretty much any rubbermaid container should be food grade and capable of holding water w/o leaching anything. Like Shooter7 suggested, you might try having something made out of acrylic.

I have two 30/gal polyethylene, open head drums. Cheap and stronger than any trash can you can buy.
I think a 15/gal, open head drum would fit your space.

Container Distributors, Venice IL.- they buy drums (some food grade) from the industry, clean them up and sell back into the industry. I use these guys every month in my business.

I have two 30/gal drums on a wood stand. Plumbed with bulk head fittings through the bottom. The lines are connected to a pump, connected to a auto top off switch. MY RO is connected to a float switch for auto fill.
Never worry about water levels in your sump again. With the float switch on the RO you wont be cleaning up over fill water any more.........but I'm rambling.........

I have what seems to be a 30 gallon white container, need to saw off the top for a open container. It had grape syrup in it I think. Its been washed a couple time but should be washed again....

interested?

I use the wrapping paper container.. I even cut it off a little so that it would fit under my stand a little better. It is plenty strong and cut off mine holds better than 10 gallons so I only have to refill it every other week or so.

Sure, sounds good. But I wasn't looking for anything here but info to buy something myself. If you do not need it, I'll take it and make it work (as long as it's not more than 14" wide).

Thanks alot!
Pete

I'll PM you.
