water storage question

Hi everyone. I was wondering if it would be ok to use normal rubbermaid containers for water storage? just got a rodi and I was hoping to use something relatively cheap for storage. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. thank you

Main thing to keep an eye out for would be structural integrity, many of the rubbermaid tubs weren't made for water so they bow out and can fail. You should check out: http://www.tank-depot.com/browse.aspx?id=2 I got both my water storage and mixing tank from them. They were made for water storage so there isn't any worries.

Look for containers that are food safe. There are certain numbers inside a little triangle stamped on the container that tell you. I can't remember which ones they are now but you can google it. I use the gray Brute can and dolly. Best money I ever spent.

I too use the brutes for my RO/DI. I have two. One for salt water changes, and one for fresh water. No bowing. They hold well. No complaints.

Another fan of The Brute - four here. One for RO/DI water, one for WC, one for top-off w/ kalk and one in my basement sump to eliminate the splatter factor.
