hehehe I think it would be sweet to make a modern looking stand for a reef that looks just like that ;)

A couple of fondu pots for retro light fixtures. Black lights for moon lights. A pot leaf black light poster for the tank back ground and you'll be set.

My first programming class in FORTRAN used punch cards.

Does that date me enough?

Also, I was one of the very first people at my college to bring their own computer.... it was an Apple II with a thermal printer.

My first real printer for the C64 was a Star Gemeni 10X. Stu, I never had to program punch cards for anything more than a learning exercise but the VAX cluster still had the card reader and several of the quarterly programs were run from card sets!

Ryan, did you find a better video driver?

nope havent even messed with the laptop just yet. i might not even bother.... my solution so far was to just disable windows sleep mode hehhehe.

shelves02.jpg

last night I made that shelf for storage and for the DJ100 powercenter. the little bevel on the right is where the laptop will mount with some industrial velcro. its at a slight angle it eats into the 1.5" wide beam about 3/4" at top and 1/8" at bottom. doesnt really compromise the beam at all and the amount of support there is way overkill for just a ~15G ro tank.

"Black lights for moon lights."

is there any negative side effect to that? you mean UV LEDs?

It was just a wise crack. When we were kids our bedroom posters would glow under black lights. Ive even got a tattoo that is invisible until you turn on the black light. The coroner is going to love that one.:)
