Wave Box on a 155 Bow Front?

O.K. before you say it "This is not staying on my bow front tank!" I am setting up a 225 starfire tank and it will be installed in there 72"L X 30"W x 24"H, I couldn't wait so I put the box in my 155 Bow Front tank and............Zip, Zero, Nadda. I am assuming that because of the bowed glass that the wave will not resonate, is this correct? Iv'e never had a WB so I was kind of shocked to see that it did absolutely nothing in my tank at all, when I watch you tube videos these guys get the water ROCK'N, this is what I want. I already own three 6100 streams and the Osmolator so I am totally sold on Tunze products but this little experiment was interesting, can anyone chime in on this post? Thank's!

What are the dimensions? What is the shape of the tank? If it is not a rectangular tank with a bowed front, I don't think it will work, it works on the principal of resonance and you have to get the right frequency timing for it to work at all, you adjust that on the controller and it is a process that typically takes a couple hours. Again, if the tank is not at least roughly a rectangle the resonance frequency can be impossible to establish. It has to have a straight shot down the length of the tank.

I figured as much like I said this was purchased for my 225 and I'll be a happy camper once it's installed thank's Roger.

BTW it really takes a couple hours to get this thing tuned in to the right resonance? If I have to shut if off for some reason will I have to start the whole process over again having to tuning it in?

Should I plug the wave box into my multi controller or keep it on the single? I'm not sure which one will benefit me best when it comes time to wire up the new tank.

Thank's again Roger,
Mark

The entire range of the 6091 knob is .4- 1.4 seconds. Somewhere in that 1 second interval with millisecond increments is the exact frequency that will create the optimum wave. It takes time and patience to hit it exactly. Once it is set, it only has to be adjusted if you have a lot of coral growth or rearrange the tank.

In general I prefer to run the wavebox alone, 24 hours a day.
