Ray I saw the vid you are getting a sick wave for that size a tank.The tank looks small in the video.Do you get a slurping sound from the over flow

No slurping sound at all. The tank is a 75g.

It is really hard to get the wave that big. You have to play with the controller for a long time. I think the problem is that the dial on the controller is so small that it is hard to move it in such small increments that are necessary to get this kind of wave. If the dial were larger (1 inch or more) you would have better control of the minute changes you need to make.

The wave looks pretty high.When the wave box is shut off what should the water level be set at.I have it set about 1 1/2 below the tank rim this is when the return pump is on, will this level be to high or would I have to lower my overflows so as I don't get a flood.When the return pumps is off its a good 2 inches from the rim of the tank.

I think I have the water level just at the bottom of the plastic trim.

Steve, wavebox can be placed on either end of the tank, ideally the overflow is centered on the back wall.

Roger, did you see my video? From crest to trough it is 3 inches. Does this count as a 3 inch wave or is it half that (1.5 inches?)

I have an overflow box that is not drilled so I can place it on left side or right.I want to know what is the best placement for it.I see now I only have about 3/4 to 1 inch maximum before the rim of the tank.I may have to lower my overflow box inorder to get a wave box.I wouldn't want to create a flood.I see Roger said to leave it in the middle.Again what should I do about wave height I am wondering if I have to lower my overflows.From what I see I more than likely have no choice.

I would say the middle is the best place for the overflow. The water height in the middle doesn't really change at all.

I would consider that a 3" wave, I am downloading the video now.

It looks like the lack of overflows and a narrower tank and a controller that can pulse fairly fast is giving you an edge. My controller was a prototype version and couldn't pulse any faster than .4sec. The final versions can pulse every .33sec.

There are 2 overflows, do you mean the larger kind of overflows like in the reef ready All Glass Tanks?

more than likely he means the overflow boxes like mine.They are larger and suck more water.My friend has the same type as you.They act as a restriction and also if you look at your set up you give your wave box enoungh space to send the pulse across the tank(your overflow is smaller) allowing more of the pulse or water flow to travel across the tank.Your type of overflow does work but I had some problems with my friends 125.We had to play around with the drainage and pump size(return pump) to try and get the maximum flow.
