Wavebox and optimum overflow placement

I'm considering an 8ft x 24 x 24 tank. What would the optimum overflow box location(s) be for a tank that size with a wavebox? Also, how much clearance is recommended for the water level?

The optimum is always centered on the back wall. You could get a 3" wave on a tank that size but you could also set 2 1.5" waves or reduce the wave height with the driver adjustment.
