I have vats that are 12' x 3' (LxW) and was wondering if the wave box would be beneficial for us, or would it even work for something this long. The vats are 500 gallons each.~Thanks
How deep are they? If they are at least 18" It would work but I don't think it is necessary and seeing as they are not a stand alone flow solution your money would likely be spent elsewhere. I think if I was farming coral I would rather spend the money on Stream pumps.
Roger,
There is one vat I was concerned about in particular. It is the same as the rest but has has flex tube riser returns that move alot of water. The Returns are 16in. apart running on both sides of the vat. The vat has a semi circle bottom that is 26in from center to suface of water. I was thinking on putting a wavebox on one end of the vat and one at the other just to add another dimmension of water movement instead of depending on just the 9 return risers.
At that volume you would need a wavebox and extension, you could place one on each end the extension is a wavebox without a controller. With one on each end you need to change the jumper in the controller to inverse. It comes preset to synchronous- both on the same end.
