Wavebox Help!

I figured out how to put the darn brackets together and then realized the brackets dont fit on a tank with TRIM...how in the world am I supposed to hook up my Wavebox with the magnet?

I can't figure it out, any help is awesome.

I have a glass tank. I screwed a piece of wood to my canopy so the brackets would extend straight down into the water. I then cut a small round pvc pipe and glued it to the suction cup and thats what keeps the unit straight up and down. Ill try to post a picture later.

I dont have a canopy...yet. so i have to get the magnet mount to work. i know it will, i just dont know how. i cant believe no one in the TUNZE forum knows how to mount this thing.

If you have purchased the magnets mounts the magnets simply clip on to the wave box itself. There are "prongs" on the back of the wavebox body that snap into the holes on the magnets, no other parts are needed from the mounting kit.

Sir, i could help with either the magnet holder or the bracket holder.

With the magnet, all you need is 1 set of 6080 magnet holder, mount it on the bottom of the box. There is two plastic prong which will go onto the holes in your magnet. Snap the magnet onto the prong and slide it upward to lock it into place. On top, you should be able to use the suction cup.....

I know your tank has a plastic trim around the top. The bracket will work if you use the right screw or you can cut part of the inside plastic trim and the job will be done much easier. But if you own an Oceanic tank it will be tough to cut then i will suggest magnet holder. You can PM me for more asst or you can PM me and will do it over the phone.

thanks guys...i got the magnet mounted. i just KNEW it would be something simple. but when you spend that kind of $$ on something, you dont try to force anything. now...how am i supposed to place this thing in a predrilled AGA tank? does it have to go in the front? that thing takes up a LOT of real estate if so. also, im not getting a wave, ive played with both knobs, the little white one and the one on the controller box. is it possibly because there is some rock and corals across the tank blocking the wave from happening? also, is the box supposed to be up out of the water a tad? it looks like theres a wavy line on the wavebox to indicate the water level...but if this is the case, then the magnet isnt completely on the glass...

The wavebox needs a pretty clear shot across the tank so likely wit will be close to the front maybe middle depending on tank layout. Set small one to 100% but the white knob on the controller is the one you will be adjusting. thing is you need to make the adjustments to it in tiny increments and wait a couple minutes between adjustments. start with it turned all the way counterclockwise which will be the shortest interval(shorter the tank shorter the interval) then slowly turn it clockwise to find the right timing for the wave.

also yes it needs to stick out of the water a bit as you mentioned.

ive been messing with the knobs for a full day now. lol which way should the TINY white knob be turned? a tried adjusting the flow from the controller from all the way counterclockwise to clockwise SLOWLY and waiting 30 mins in between raising it up...still no wave. only thing i can think of is obstacles in the way??

Semper Fi, for the small white knob, turn it clockwise as you looking direct at the knob.

IMO, if you have too much rock or if the box did not have a straight shot across the length, it will not work. As for tuning the frequency, i suggest to turn the white knob on your controller counter clockwise till it stop. slowly (i mean extremely slow, if you the the knob actually move it may be too much) adjusting it clockwise. Once you make an adjustment, stop and observe for 30 sec-1 min then make another adjustment. Make sure the top part is out of the water. If you have the magnet mounted on top and it hit your canopy or the trim, move the magnet to the bottom and use the suction cup for the top.

As Steve said, the tuning process typically takes 3-4 hrs. When you get it right you have one wave, like a see/saw crest on one side, trough on the other.
