Wavebox impeller replacement.

I need to find a replacement impeller/propeller assembly for my wavebox. Mine was beeping tonight and I took it apart to find the propeller, a round bushing-like piece just sitting inbetween the cage and the housing. Is this a frequent occurance I haven't been running this thing very long (3 months) on timed intervals.

Thanks for the help!

Hello Lilmonkey, I have been using wavebox for many years and this is the first time i hear something like that happen. Are you talking about the little bushing in the back of the impeller or the bushing that goes onto the motor block at the front?

Can you push it back in?

Have you ever remove the bushing during cleaning?

How old is the wave box?

If you only use it for 3 months and i assume you bought it brand new, you are still under warranty. If that is the case, Roger will take care of you with the part.

It appears as if the propeller has snapped away from white plastic. I used the wavebox on my old tank for about 8 months, then it was fully cleaned in vinegar and looked new when it went back in the box....everything was stripped down, including cleaning of the housing and impeller assembly. I took it back out when I got my new tank up and running about 3 months ago, so I assume it's out of warranty.

Lilmonkey, When you say the propeller snapped away from the white plastic that sound like an older model pump with the brake pad. Does your propeller come with multiple pieces or just 1 piece? Does your propeller look like this?

It sounds like an older wavebox with the 6100.60 drive unit, we haven't used this since February of 2006. These would break for one of two reasons. A snail or crab got in the pump and on impact the shaft broke, or, the bearing shell came loose and over time sawed through the shaft.

The drive unit is a 6220.10, and I guess it's possible that a snail might have gotten in the way....with all the being said, where can I source the piece I need?

Thanks!
