Wavebox In A 30gallon??

I wanted to experiment using my wavebox in a 30g. I know I wont likely see crest and trophs. but I still hope to get some sort of radom flow and I did not wish to purchase another pump since this still works. What do you expect will happen?

yeah I have the wavebox pretty low so that I won't need to fill the tank very high. I am going to leave about 4-5 inches of empty space so that I can accomodate the flow. I hope what you say does not happen lol. Tank is brand new AGA. Driver will be set to minimum as well.

Even if I dont get the wave I still want to pulse the water. I want the intermittent on off cycle which I could do with a lot of other devices, like a stream pump or a wavemaker. I wont get the signiture wave this device is known for but I hope to at least get some kind of random movement. My only other option is a seio m2600 at the moment. I had it on my 150g and I got that wave on the surface but now I made that into a fowler and this 30g is a coral tank so I need the random flow here not in there. A 4ft would have been better, but no room for that. Tnak is 3ft.
At any rate can I even be ok with just setting the unit to pulse very slowly by turning the pulse dial to the least frequent setting so that It wont work as fast? When I set the pulse at about 12 o clock on the 150g I would get the wave, while at the least frequent setting I was only getting bursts of water, will the same happen here??

I am not sure, a very small wave is possible but I wouldn't do it personally because it is so big for such a small tank.

Big in terms of space it will occupy or in regards to its flow? I want to have my lps corals sway and rock back and forth so I hope to get this by doing slow pulses, by turing pulse dial to minumum. I have the wavebox mounted on the tank and it looks very nice despite the small tank size. It blends into black background nicely.

I am running a wavebox on the 36" inch 65 Gal tank, i get 1" wave. If i move the rocks away from it i can get 1.5" thats it.
I have black background too. And i also run 6100 pump (hidden behind the rocks) there is never too much flow.

1-1.5" on a 3ft tank is really better than I would expect so that is pretty good, I would have predicted a 3/4" max.

vijaym85, I meant big in terms of physical space, the flow shouldn't be too much.

Why don't you just wait until the 6055 Nano Streams come out put them on the pulse setting on the multicontroller.
You will have more water movement options with this IMOP.

I mainly am doing this because I already have this unit and just want to use it before buying something else. I am sure the nano's are awesome, but I cant spend money again, as I just bought this wavebox and I really think It is quite capable of doing a lot. I think people become overwhelemed by its power but when adjusted properly I think I can get it to suit my needs. The only complaint I have with the wavebox is the fact that the driver needs a screw driver to adjust it, I would have liked a external knob. That is my only gripe.

Before 2000 we had external knobs, I am not sure why they changed to the screw, I know we did this on the temperature controllers to eliminate the risk of accidental settings or kids playing with it.

I have got the wavebox upm and running and I am able to get an amazing 1.5 inches in wave height! Clearly the wavebox knows no bounds. I have been able to acheive this by placing the unit in the minumum driver setting and the pulse at the maximum. To be honest i hit this wave right off the bat and I never attempted to change either the driver or pulse setting to see if I could get even more.
