WaveBox - need advise

I have a 120g RR Oceanic tank (48") with two overflow boxes - one at each corner. In addition to my my two tunzes 6100, I am thinking of adding a wave box. Is that overkill? Will it work in my 48" in tank? How should I position the two tunze's with the wavebox? Also, from your knowledge, what are the pros and cons about the wavebox? I have heard waveboxes can weaken the seals in the tank...how true is that?

Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply, I answered your PM, I had gone out of town for Thanksgiving.

Roger - thanks so much for getting back to me. I still have a few questions:
1 - Will it work in my 48" in tank and how should I position the tunze with the wavebox?
2 - What size wave should I expect & how much effect will the tunze add to it?
3 - What is the average life span of a tank (Oceanice 120 g RR)?

Thanks again!!!
Ron

1) It has to be on a side pane and ideally with an unobstructed shot to the other side. It will work.
2)3/4"-1.5" I have only been able to get a max of 1" on my 120, your results will largely depend on the overflow positions.
3) Oceanic is one of the better tanks, if you didn't move it and the stand was level, it should last 20 years or so.

cool! they are not that level, but good enough. Also, I heard that I could get magnets....do I need the magnets and if so how many?

Just keep in mind if it is unlevel the stress on seams is greatly increased. If it is off by more than 1/8" or torques I would not add a wavebox. Magnets are not necessary but make the unit easier to install, we recommend using 2 pair.
