Hello there and thank you in advance for anyone who can help!
I have the following running in my home:
180 gallon reef tank, Tunze Wavebox in the front left corner, 1 Tunze 6100 in the rear left corner facing the far right front corner (not the middle of the glass), 1 Tunze 6100 in the middle of the right side facing the opposite side glass, and 1 Tunze 6100 in the front right corner facing the middle back glass. For a return I use a Blueline 1750 gph external pump.
Let me say this first...this tanks water is MOVING. LOL I put a turkey baster in the tank to blow off some crap in the rocks and I can't keep the baster still!
Anyways here is my question, since I put the external pump online (yesterday) I killed my wave. I'm wondering if the wavebox is more of a solitary unit and am I just putting TOO much flow through the tank?
In other words, can a ton of water movement other than the wavebox harm the wave? Do I really even need the wavebox with all of my other equipment? Or should I cut back on the amount of 6100's I employ?
Honestly, I LOVE a DSB, and have one...but I CANNOT keep the sand in the front middle of the tank. I don't "seem" to have any pumps hitting the front glass for this reason and also for the reason of not affecting the wavebox as per JarHead.
Can you help me re-position the 6100's or give me any other advice?
Thanks!!!
