Wavebox or Streams?

Ok so my 750 (120x48x30) is a 360 degree viewable tank with a island overflow so the only place I have to "hide" a couple waveboxes is around the overflow box, the problem with that is:

(1) the only place to mount the wavebox is on the overflow itself
(2) it blocks the teeth of the overflow
(3) my rock work is all stacked up to hide the overflow so no real room for the waveboxes without the rock being redone

So I'm thinking about doing 3 large streams (6100's or 6200's) on each end of the tank facing each other. I have a 4" x 4" square tube that is 30 inch's long mounted flat up at the top of each end of the tank so I could easily hide the streams in these tubes.

My question is this:

Can I get the same "surge" effect from the streams as the waveboxes?

It can be done as long as the pumps don't suck in air. You will get some wave but nothing like the wavebox....
