Wavebox Question for my tank.

Hey Roger-

I have a 400 gallon (82x45x28) acrylic tank with 4 stream 6100's in the deco rocks. I'm thinking about adding a wavebox, and I wanted to get your input on the best location, and whether I need the extension.

I was hoping to put the wavebox(es) on the back wall between the overflows (or in the rear corners if absolutely necessary). The aquascaping is fairly open, so flow shouldn't be an issue.

One other problem is that the tank has a 6" brace around the top (9" on the back wall).

This photo should give you an idea of the tank layout...

FYI: I'll have to send you a picture of my 1 year old deco rock from my old tank with a 7" diameter pink Monti cap, coralline, and green fuzzy shrooms. It blends in so well that no one ever believes that my 3000 gph pump is inside that "rock".

Thanks in advance -

You will need one extension. I would run them in synchron mode with both on the same side. You will need the magnet holders, while it is recommended to have two for each box I have found one is OK but I used suction cups to support the top half. It looks also like your water level would have to come down for this to work, a tank that size you will get a pretty big wave, maybe 1.5"
