wavebox?

I like the movement the tunze wavebox creates but are these too much for sea horse? Im reading horses like flow but need low flow areas for resting then im reading they dont like too much flow at all. Im planning on tearing down my current reef system to do a rebuild and have developed an interest in these guys and im trying to do as much research as I can to build a good environment for them.

Currently running a 100gal tank with a wavebox and 2 seio 800s
along with a dual overflow box and a mag12 for a return pump. I have about 200lbs of live rock running a euro reef skimmer in a 55 gal sump/fuge along with many types of macro algae. Also running a 1/3hp chiller and 2x150w hqi 2x130w pc for lighting.

Plan is to do a rock/foam wall on 3 walls of the tank as it is an inwall tank and hide my plumbing within the structure and a rock/foam island in the middle. I want to take most of the macros in the fuge and move them into the main display. If the flow from the wavebox is safe I also want to keep it and use egg crate to block the horses from getting sucked in. Any suggestions or ideas on my set up would be greatly appreciated!

depends on the interval. to short, and the SH will never be able to rest, and won't keep their weight on, and may go off their food.

IMHO, your best bet would be to set up and area that blocks the flow from the box so the SH can retreat to it.

i'm a fan of flow, but remember, you're designing a SH system, and they should come first.

Yea I have it on short intervals but not at full strength I was hoping the center island would break up the flow and create a calm area for them to rest. Thanks for the input! This tank will be built around them so I can get rid of the wavebox of needed.
