Wavebox

Roger,

Do you think if I modded my wavebox and trimmed off one side in order fit in between my overflow box and the glass...would it still work ok? I have a peninsula style tank and my overflow is on a 2ft. side. My streams fit within that space. I tried taking the single wavebox pump and using it without the box but it never successfully created a decent wave. Perhaps the tank configuration also provides problems with a wave? Just curious as to your thoughts.

It would have to be sealed up again and the pump still fit inside. The displacement is what adds to the wave, without the displacement you generally need two opposed pumps running in inverse wavemode to get close to what the wavebox can do. The only other caution would be that if you reduced the volume too much the pump could start to take in air.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure if I want to destroy the box but I don't have much use for the wavebox otherwise. I already have a couple of 6100's that I could use to mimic the wavebox but then again I would need so additional water movement elsewhere.

We'll see what happens
