wavebox

hi Roger,
I just received the wavebox and started installing it with the magnet. I have a All Glass Aquarium with a "lip" on top of the tank, like im sure all tanks do. The problem im having is that the highest the magnet will go on the outside of the tank does not allow the water level of my tank to reach the wave line on the box. So the wavebox does not work properly and water bubbles and splashes out of the box.

So how do i install the magnets properly? Can i just install the bottom portion? I only purchased 1 magnet btw.

Another problem im having is that the photo cell does not fit into the controller because the hole is not lined up properly with the female plug. Is this something i can fix or do i need to send it in?

Thanks in advance,
Guy.

You can use the magnet holder on the bottom but I would secure the top with suction cups or the rails for extra security and to prevent it from rocking back and forth.

You can do either, send it in or open the controller (it is in the manual how to) and then shave the hole a little bigger with a sharp knife or move the board a little.

so far the suction cup is working well, thanks.
i opened the controller and the bord inside was just misaligned, so that just fit in place.
now i have a question about the sesnsitive dial . when i set it i get too big of a wave and a hairline away i get no wave, i played with the dial for a good half hour trying to fine tune it. any suggestions?
thanks

Set it to too big a wave then lower the power of the pump, by adjusting the variable resistor in the end of the pump drive unit, until you get the wave back down to the height you want.

Yes, you need a screwdriver. It is the one you reach through a hole in the end the metal box holding the electronics that control the pump.

Guy,

This is how I have my WaveBox mounted on my AGA 180.

The magnet is up on the trim and I used a piece of 1/4" acrylic to "shim" it out. Holds just fine without any movement.
