WCR 1st annual Member's only frag swap

Sadly, I will be out of town that weekend... looking forward to making it to a meeting and trading some frags SOON though, I hope! Have fun!
 
I think I am coming. They changed my schedule at work and starting in January I am off on Sundays instead of Saturdays so this should work. When I see the final workup I will let you know for sure. Good news for watching the 49ers Too!!

I have some more club magnets and maybe another shirt to give away and I am working on a couple frags but may need to buy one ,we shall see.

BTW I was checking my tank out the other day and low and behold I now have 3 bubble tip anenomes. They either split or another piece survived the original suicide attempt. I was thinking of catching one and selling it but the next day it was hidden again. Someday I will catch him!!:)
 
Ben, one fluid ounce is 29.5735296mls. It's ok to round up to 30.

A teaspoon is 5mls. A tablespoon 15.

So 10mls would be two teaspoons. And while a liter is actually 33.8 ounces, for our purposes, that's essentially a quart.

If I were making my own, I'd probably bump up the Melafix. The recommended rate on Melafix is 10mls / liter, so I'm not sure how effective only 1ml would be, without some sort of synergistic effect with the Bayer product.
 
The bayer products and Melafix mix that I use is just a starting point. It works very well through the thread that I posted. Different people are using different ratio. I used even more for sps but I will use less for plating montis. I only added Melafix to make sure. The cool thing is my corals seems to be happier after the dip and color up even more the following days.
 
We received the corals on sunday and all we can say is WOW. The vendor (Diablo corals) and the wholesaler really set us up big time. The box was so heavy Grant was having problem carying it :D. We got several colonies of beautiful acros that we will be fragging up in the next few days so they will have time to heal. We also got war and peace corals, bright purple goniporas, all different color zoanthids, bright color acans, lobo, different colors favia just to name a few. From this load we should have about 60-80 frags. Grant and I will bring about 20 frags each of our own corals so right of the bat you will have 120 frags to pick from.

Also with the $20 buy in you will receive a raffle ticket for a special raffle and a picking order. We set a side some nice and interesting corals for you to have a chance to win.

Please post what you are going to bring so we can get excited :D

Hello, i am a new member to this reef central forum and I would like to know how can i join the WCR club? I am currently wanting to learn how to better my tank and get more experience from all of you reef experts.

Welcome!

The club doesn't cost anything to join, all you have to do is show up at our meetings. We announce it here every month or so.

Oculus Aquatics hooked you up with all the crazy frags/colonies. They were glad to lend a hand for the swap n give you crazy pieces for amazing deal.
 
This is my first attempt fragging so I hope i dont kill the frags and the mother colony. I'm bringing some blue tenius.

Dang - really wish I could be there! Even though I can't make it, a super big thanks to Diablo and Oculus for supporting the group - someone please take pics of the event so the rest of us can see what we missed! :-)
 
i put it on the clander, but let me confirm about a week prior. It would be good to see all you guys again. I've still got a few things i can frag off. With all the ups and downs of my tank i have never had a bug so I'm clean. knock on wood.

now aptasia is a diffrent story. until I got the pepermint shrimp a while back. one of my 5 eats them. =)
 
Sorry, I will not be able to attend. Will be in sin city that weekend.
