my air is out and the repairman will not be here till Monday afternoon ...so I am freezing water and floating bottles like a maniac. I did pull my air conditioner out of my work shop and put it in the window in the room with the tank so now i am waiting to see if that is going to keep the temp down. It is at 81.6 holding steady so far so if it just holds steady I should be ok. I actually bought a generator for power outages but never thought about an air outage. Glitzyone's recent outage made me think to freeze some bottles of water so I had some to start on. Can't this hobby be fun at times like this...yeeehhhhaaaa!!!

seems the little window unit is going to do the trick and keep the temp in check..that is IF I can get this puppy to quit swinging on the sheet I have holding the cold air in the room. He thinks it is the best plaything ever made...lol Thanks for the offer Malisa...if I see this idea failing, I will give you a call ...Bill and I will be hibernating with the tank for a few days...the rest of the house is miserable. Yep Dave , I threw the switch on the MH lights this afternoon so they would not be kicking in . Thanks guys .

Fortunately it is supposed to stay in the 80s all weekend.

Good luck! Let us know if you need any help.

Fans are surprisingly effective, I put one on my african tank, it was at 82 this summer, by the next afternoon when I came in it was at 74. I have since added some ventalation, it stays much more consistant now then it used to.
